Ever since Da Emazing One discovered the sound of music, he knew the notes that invaded his soul would never escape. In the early 1970′s, Pop music at the time was the hype for him, however He was more drawn to the songs with the Funk overtones. Meanwhile as he matured towards the end of the decade, a new sound arrived, but this sound did not come alone! It came with a steel canvas, a plastic dance floor, and a whole new language. This new sound he heard was the sweet sound of Hip Hop! Emazing felt right at home because He understood the language this new style was speaking; Street Language!
It was the Call of the Wild Style, and Emazing went on a quest to find his gift within the newfound culture of Hip Hop.
He first began to write rhymes but was never good at it…at first! Then He dived into DJ’ing until He got that right. Yet, in the meantime, He kept on writing His rhymes while collecting as many cassette tapes as possible from raw performances of Hip Hop’s pioneers. He tried his hand at Graffiti writing, but only got as far as forming his own Graff Blackbook. In the mid 1980′s He discovered that B-Boying was the most fun he had in Hip Hop but had to retire from it because of a nagging injury to his hip.
Overall, the gift that he fell in love with was the art of writing rhymes.
In the late 80′s towards the early 1990′s, he met a few people that were trying to evolve in Hip Hop music. He soon discovered that they were nothing but weeds in Hip Hop. Emazing didn’t get discouraged. He kept on writing his lyrics.
A few years later, He finally met a couple of true B-Boys that were not weeds in Hip Hop. They hooked up, formed a rap group, and did do a few demos. Unfortunately, not only did their contacts not believe in their talent, the rap music business began to change into something else.
Emazing is now in his early forties and settled down, but the love and respect for the Hip Hop culture will forever remain in his heart and soul.
