B-Boy Pioneer Frosty Freeze Passes at 44

Ladies and Gentlemen, B-Boy Godfather, WayneFrosty FreezeFrost of the Rock Steady Crew, has passed at the young age of 44. His passing occurred Thursday April 4, 2008, at Mount Sinai Medical Center in NYC due to suffering a long term undisclosed illness.

Frosty Freeze began B-Boyin’ with The Rock City Crew1 in The Bronx from 1978 - 1980. Around 1981, He later joined The Rock Steady Crew where He achieved international stardom along with: Ken Swift, Mr Freeze, Eazy Mike, Mr. Wiggles, Crazy Legs, Pop Master Fabel, Devious Doze, Baby Love, Jimmy D, Jo Jo, Lil Crazy Legs, Johnny Jay, Rip Ski, Lenny Len, Kuriaki, Buck 4, and Kippy D. He was credited as the inventor of the notorious signature move, “The Suicide.”

Due to an infamous “umbrella” dance scene in the movie Flashdance (1983), Frosty Freeze, Crazy Legs, Ken Swift, and Mr. Freeze introduced B-Boyin’ to the mainstream and then the world. Other film appearances by Frosty Freeze, noted by www.IMDB.com, are Style Wars (1983), Wild Style (1983), Beat Street (2004), The Freshest Kids (2002), 5 Sides of a Coin (2003), and Hip Hop Honors (2004).

Let us all celebrate the memory of His life for being a B-Boy artist, pioneer, godfather, and legend to Hip Hop. Thank you, Frosty Freeze!
