Scratch DJ Prodigies: 9 and 7 Year Old Turntablists!
Q Ball
Q Ball is a South Florida inner city native who has embraced Hip Hop culture ever since He first heard "Rapper's Delight" in 1979. His journey to live the culture was enhanced during the massive relocation boom of New Yorkers throughout the 80s which gave South Florida the nickname, "The 6th Borough." His enthusiasm lead him into the skills of Lyricism, Graff Writing, and Track Producing and now writes for Old School Scholar.
Here are a couple of videos for your enjoyment with DJs Sara Scratch and Ryusei riding the rhythms and wreckin’ needles! Although they are only scratching to the tunes I do not believe it will be long when we will see these two beat juggling and quick mixing. Imagine these two kids cutting up breaks with J-Styles and Lil’ Demon burning the floor. That would be dope!
Whoever is mentoring Sara and Ryusei please give them more skills. They will surely eat up the knowledge. I repeat, “the future of the Hip Hop culture is bright indeed!”
Here is something for everyone to think about. With these kids learning and growing their skills at already advanced levels as some of their adult counterparts; why is it that many big label rappers have not advanced their lyrical prowess and spew first grade level lyrics? We have many grown men recording rhymes even a toddler can rehearse? Think about!
If you can’t answer that question, then I ask you this:
Who has more dope skills representing Hip Hop? 9 year old DJ Sara Scratch or grown ass Rick Ross?
I rest my case.
Enjoy!
