I found these three YouTube videos an hour ago from a short documentary called Getting Up: A Graffiti Documentary. This film is narrated by several famous writers on the culture, drama, and lessons of being a Graff outlaw.
I want you to see evidence where Hip Hop culture shines at its brightest, and how it enlightens a possible future for those who once envisioned tomorrow as a blur. I want you to feel how it made you feel the first time you found Hip Hop kissing you on the cheek with open arms. Do you remember when?
It is the call of the wild style, and traditionally Graff Writers will hook up in crews like a pack of wolves roaming the night. A crew is exactly like any other team or company focusing on a common goal to get the job done. They choose their pieces, pick their target, establish the plan, agree to the tasks, enter, execute, bomb, and finally exit like vapor.

You know, most up and coming rappers today believe getting their rhyme skills any type of attention is to enter a local MC battle, exhibit their presence online (i.e. YouTube or MySpace), or get on multiple mix tapes and hope a talent scout would discover them. These are all well proven buzz tactics that can get you noticed, but there is one problem to these forms of promotion. It ain’t live! It’s Memorex!
Last night I came across some video footage recorded in 1986 at the dawn of the Golden Age of Hip Hop. What you are about to view are documented interviews from a Dutch televison reporter, Marcel Vanthilt. During this era, Hip Hop culture was making leaps in bounds in Europe as it was in North America. The intrigue in these interviews is quite evident why our culture burst into an international phenomenan. To this very day, Hip Hop Culture is not just fully embraced in Europe, but also in Africa, Asia, Australia, South America, and the Middle East. Where ever there is a creative soul to be liberated on this planet, there is Hip Hop.
During the mid 1980s when B-Boying was being commercially pimped, the world was exposed to the legendary New York City Breakers and The Rock Steady Crew. Unknowingly, these two B-Boy crews were internationally evangelized Hip Hop’s dance form and culture, and thanks to the international community B-Boying never died. If you were really paying attention to Hip Hop culture on the outside looking in, the international community is who is saving it now.

I was just scouring YouTube, and found these B-Boys rocking at Club 444 in Omiya, Japan. The crew featured is from an area of Japan called Saitama just outside of Tokyo. This squad is real fluid with freestyling and power moves, but the most enjoyable moment is the flavor the little man brings to the dance! The crew is dope! Little man defies gravity with no sweat! That is all I got to say.
I’m sure you’ve heard the term before; Alternative Hip Hop. What a funny name. I thought Hip Hop music had no bounderies or guidelines. I thought Hip Hop music was composed of a conglomerate of influences blended to create a unique sound.
