Webster’s Dilemma

We all have our own interpretation or impression of the “N” word spelled with letters “E-R” at the end. Little do people think that word has been transforming since the 1800s. That word historically is greatly despised by the Black community, until the mid 1960s, it evolved and began to spread like a disease without a cure. That word of hate has been twisted into a word showing perverse love. I don’t give a damn what anybody says to me, in my opinion, the “N” word that has been currently used with the letter “A” at the end, should have no place in Hip Hop whatsoever!
Why? Well to me when the Hip Hop culture began, it became a community of creative minds that exercised no prejudice or violence. Nobody ever said, “What’s that White boy thinking he’s doing on the mic? Booo! Get him off the stage!!!” Nobody ever said, “What’s that girl doing here with a spray can?” It had its moments but hate never prevailed.
That’s the one true reason why I love Hip Hop so much. It is universal!
If you in any way, shape, or form disagree, and you ain’t down with that, well then I’ll tell you what! Instead of being halfway ignorant, why don’t we be all the way ignorant!!! Don’t you think that sounds like a great idea? Yeah, yeah! Instead of referring to people as Brothers and Sisters, why don’t we segregate ‘em into separate classes?
For the Caucasian community, let’s take the “C” word, replace the “E-R” at the end of it with an “A” and make that the new hip slang for the decade. For the Asian community, let’s take the “CH” word, put an “A” at the end of the letter “K” and make that the new hip slang for the decade. Let’s not leave out the Hispanic community, let’s take the “SP” word and put the letter “A” after the letters “I and C.” Let’s make that the new hip slang for the decade.
Oh! And you know we can’t leave out the Jewish community! Let’s take the “K” word and put an “A” at the end of that and make that the new hip slang for the decade. Wow!!! Doesn’t that sound cool?
I say, Hell no!!!
Hell no, because it’s sooo straight up ignorant. So what makes the “N” word version in Rap Music any different? While you let your mind marinate on that, let me ask you this, What in the Hell does that word even mean? No, no, let me rephrase that question. What the hell does that stupid, embarrassing, ignorant piece of an English word mean? You know what? Let me end this here with a serious question,
“Why does it seem that the Black community is the only community that continues to insult its own intelligence?”
Don’t answer that question with “It’s a Black thing, Nigga, you wouldn’t understand!”
